DBX could add some spark to the Bond franchise

The Geneva Motor Show was full of electric-enhanced goodies. From the shock unveiling of the plug-in Koenigsegg Regera, a car from a manufacturer whose frontman was quoted a few years ago stating that hybrid cars ‘were not the future’, through to the diesel e-tron hybrid Audi Q7, the Swiss show housed more EV-themed cars than ever before.

Aston Martin clearly didn’t want to miss out on a bit of the fun, with its fully electric DBX concept. A great departure from the sumptuous V12-powered road barges we’re used to from the brand, it was keen to address the massive change from the outset. Sporting auto-dimming ‘smart-glass’ windows and bespoke driver and passenger HUD units, it will be interesting to see how the car goes down amongst Aston Martin loyalists. We can see a futuristic electric-powered super GT cruiser being the winning combination with its smooth, silent power delivery, allowing the lucky driver to focus on the other gadgets the car has to offer as it wafts them to the south of France…
