Your instinctive reaction to this dinky little project car from the University of Stuttgart’s ‘GreenTeam’ may be to let out a little chuckle or even an ‘aww’ noise, but that smile will soon be wiped off your face when you see just what this miniature, puppy dog-resembling marvel is capable of…
Because the team and the car have just smashed the Guinness World Record for the fastest accelerating car to travel from 0-100km/h, electric or not, with a neck-snapping time of just 1.779 seconds!
Beating previous record holder AMZ Racing by just 0.006 seconds, the car uses four electric motors and a 6.62kWh battery to kick out around 134bhp. Not anything to write home about, but the car’s party trick is its weight – just 160kg, which when combined with the instantaneous torque from an electric powerplant results in some serious G-forces.
Still think it’s a cute little car…?!
