More good news for those who are suffering from a bad case of ‘range anxiety’ this month, as BMW has proposed the simple but potentially brilliant idea of adding EV charging points to street lamps.
The ‘Light & Charge’ scheme would incorporate self-service charging points at the base of a new line of efficient LED street lamps (or retrofitted into current lights), with examples already dotted around near the company’s MINI factory in Oxfordshire.
With street lamps appearing on almost every street in the UK, if this scheme kicks off, you’d never have to worry about running out of volts again…
