Just four months ago, Tesla had only nine of its free, ultra-fast ‘Supercharger’ charging units set up across the UK. Clearly, this wasn’t going to cater for everyone in the country, with Tesla promptly promising that by the back end of 2015, every Model S owner would be able to drive the length on the UK on these Superchargers alone.
Well, now it’s March, and it seems Tesla has stuck very firmly to its promise; as the grand total of the Superchargers on British isles has already topped the 20 mark, with the figure rising rapidly.
These charging stations offer a full charge to Model S owners within minutes instead of hours, conveniently located near other amenities so you don’t get bored whilst your car is filling up with volts. As with other EV manufacturers, it certainly seems like the more chargers available, the more people will consider purchasing the car, something with Tesla main man Elon Musk knows only too well, with more Supercharger units being announced all the time.
